    According to Dr Stacy Simms ,women in pero menopause and menopause should never do intermitting fasting. She is an expert on menopause with a lot of research done and scientifically proven research. Also she is a professor at Harvard university. According to her research when you do intermitting fasting you also increase the hormone cortisol and cortisol holds on to fat. Specially in the abdominal area.

    If you help women with the right hormones they can stay healthy. In turn it would not benefit BIG PHARMA. When women get many ailments in aging the more pills they can throw at them ex: BP meds Cholesterol Meds DEPRESSION Meds Sleeping Meds and on and on.

    Almost 1 year without alcohol. I still watch videos about how pernicious alcohol is. I don’t need to watch those videos to keep sober because I know that it is the best decision in my life. I keep doing it because the enormous pressure that you suffer from the rest of society that put and stigma on you if you don’t drink

    So now that we figure this out men won't run to the 20 yr olds now lol.. Watch out young lady's ..Just restarted estradiol patch .25mg 200 progesterone pill the 1.00mg oral pill estradiol was horrible so to much to soon at 57. Had to go thru various testing a hysteroscopy and doc to make sure it wasn't anything with the breakthru bleeding and along the way discovered the patch so keeping the progesterone it was the high dose of oral that caused me to bleed bloat and feel awful. Now so far so good and estrogen cream vs the vaginal tablets . 2 weeks in and so far no side effects so I'll be patient and ad more estrogen slowly .

    A month ago I found my A1C was 11.5 , I started a meat & veggie diet that same day . My Glucose was up to 320 😳😬 😭😭😭 , now it runs from 221 to 184 . I know still to high but I'm working on this , very low carbs , no sugar . in august I get rechecked .. No medications but if my A1C is still up there I will take metformin 😭

    It is interesting information but having to keep up with when to fast, how long to fast, what to eat after fast, what not to eat, what diet to follow up to what day before you cycle snd when to change diets and workouts and insulin and carbs and fat and and and... . This is simply unrealistic, overwhelming, stressful, and becomes a full time job just watching your diet alone! Ladies, it's simple: cut calories, restrict carbs, eliminate all forms of sugar, work out daily. That's it.

    Estradiol (like all the other sex hormones) is produced from cholesterol. The olive oil meantioned as a source of 'healthy' monounsaturated fat is considered 'healthy' because it lowers cholesterol. But it doesn't really lower cholesterol, it replaces it with phytosterols: "The cell structure of phytosterols looks and acts like cholesterol, so it competes with cholesterol for absorption by your digestive system. When your body digests plant sterols instead of cholesterol, it removes some of the cholesterol as waste. This results in lower cholesterol levels and improved health." Hmmm 🤔 ... I'll better eat old good butter. 🤤

    Good conversation. I am also a person that is on the addictive end of the curve. While doing keto with all sorts of cheats like keto snacks and nuts, I was hungry and lost no weight. I am currently recovering from major surgery and forced myself to throw away all of those things. I am seeing a positive impact on my blood glucose. I am losing weight, eating less and fasting again. Of course I am still trying to heal. I might also be benefitting from the lack of appetite. I’ll have to see how I am doing in a few months.

    Well, one size doesnt fit all! I practices what you are calling IF for like 3 years while doing strength training and cardio....BUT: breakfast IS the most important meal of the day, it aligns us with our circadian rhythm and all! . For me, I only had to stop eating earlier.... so I eat from 8:30-6:30....and since I have added breakfast (continuing with my workout routinge), my body comp is beautifully changing!! Just saying....

    It's confusing for most people when we call bad oils seed oil. Should say all plant oils because all oils are cut with seed oils no matter what it says on the label.

      Yes, but at least the seed/ fruit distinction is fair b/c of mono v poly. Worse is the wellness people referring to "healthy fats" - mostly they do NOT seem to mean, by that, "animal fat" or " saturated fat" or butter - which ARE the healthy ones. Mostly I suspect that they mean canola 😮 plus fish oils.

    I had a patient a month or two ago who was failing on Trulicity with a HgA1c of 9.8. I told her she needed to use Intermittent Fasting. I saw her yesterday and she is off the Trulicity and all meds and now has a HgA1c of 5.1. IF works.

      That's not what the science shows. Rather disingenuous to claim low carb is bad and is only useful for weight loss because that's not the case. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. Additionally, commercial "vegetable oils" (soy, sunflower, safflower, corn, canola, cottonseed, grapeseed and rice bran oils) are all poisonous to us on a cellular level. Too many carbs and too much "vegetable oil" are the basis for most of the modern "diseases of civilization".

    I finished my first 72 hour fast yesterday (at least the first in several years). I could barely have a full meal and in no way get a full day’s worth of protein and fat. So I am trying again today to get a full day of nutrients. It is daunting. Vegetables barely have any protein, I can’t stand beans, don’t eat wheat or rice or potatoes AND looking at eggs and beef is making me feel ill. Prior to this I was doing about 1 meal a day I am wondering if it is ok for me to continue this way. I am losing a lot of weight in water and fat but worry about my set point in the future when my appetite is normal again.
