    Thank you - excellent video! I'm 65 years old now, but when I was around 51, and post-menopause -at 50, I started eating soy ice cream daily (UGGH -I've learned a lot since then) - after a while, I began to develop symptoms of getting my period - swollen breasts & crampy lower abdomen! I suspected the soy was the culprit, stopped it and within a couple of weeks, those symptoms went away -never to return. Since then, I have avoided soy like the plague but experienced the beginnings of those symptoms by frequently eating flax (in Mary's Gone Crackers)... Now I avoid soy, flax, chickpeas & the big phytoestrogen-containing foods. For what it's worth, I no longer eat sugar or any refined, packaged crap - and stick to a clean, whole-food omnivore diet. I have a very mild case of RA and am trying to figure out what might make things worse - it's so confusing... lectins, phytates, oxalates... yikes!

I myself went back to school as an RN, to get my masters in Midwifery & Womens' Health Nurse Practitioner & still couldn't understand what was happening in my body & brain, after I was thrown into surgically induced menopause after hysterectomy for fibroids.     If you listen to Dave explain how doctors arrived at the firm conclusion that ApoB is causal of heart disease you might think they might be mistaken. This is why we don’t get medical advice from engineers. he understands nothing and distorts what he does understand.

      Actually software engineers look at processes and if something does not make sense concerning the outcome they methodically go thru the processes to find out why. Doctors look at me with a blank stare when I ask them why When I lose ten pounds and don’t eat processed carbs all my blood markers go to normal but LDL goes up. They are too busy seeing patients to study what they are doing they just follow what they have been taught and prescribe statins. This is why people are interested in the engineering approach that is willing to look deeper.

    very interesting!!!!! I wish I had a doctor like her! I'm glad I was never on birth control pills, never taken one script. I wonder which estrogen that 'yam' estrogen cream is meant to 'mimic' (of course it doesn't). It's lovely when people actually know what they are talking about. Thank you for this wonderful education session! Just for the record my mother is 90 she's been on hormone replacement since surgical menopause at 36. she's fine. was on Premarin for 30years then switched to patches... but she is very healthy and doesn't smoke or eat processed junk and walks an hour a day for exercise, dose yoga and works hard all day isn't one to sit around watching TV. Always eaten real food and never switched to low fat anything. Just eats as nature provides

    I appreciate that you discuss scientific beliefs and fad diets by dates, because I believe the average person dorsn't know about these changes. I had no idea that doctors are trained a bit differently each decade (based on new science results)., or that far wasn't as big as issues at initially thought, or that eating a "balanced" meal plus a cookie is better than eating just the cookie (fewer calories total). My knowledge (burn in the 60s, elementary school on the 70s, and high school in early 80s) stopped there. I was not aware of much after the early 80s. 😮

    I could listen to Dr. Li all day as well as Dr. Robert Lustig and Dr. Jason Fung and now you Cynthia have become the fourth pillar of knowledge that I seek as I continue to move forward in my postmenopausal years. I gave up sugar back in 2019 and lost 34 pounds. I stay at about 10 g of carbs or less a day and I eat them in the morning. I have maintained my weight within a 3 pound marker since then. I continue to watch these videos almost on a daily basis, just so I don’t stray too far away from the knowledge. It keeps my awareness at a high level so I can stay on this path. It’s really not hard anymore. I’ve learned to enjoy the food that I am eating. I enjoy the planning & preparation of my meals. Several years ago, I started to go see a nutritional health practitioner. I see her every three months or so. She does muscle testing on me to test my resistance against the supplements that I am taking. She can determine whether the dosage needs to be adjusted. At 57 years of age, I am on no prescription medication and that is my goal to maintain as I age, I am so thankful that I can attend Utube university on a daily basis lol the plethora of knowledge on this platform knows no bounds. Whenever I hear someone in my social circle complaining about how bad they feel I refer them to all of you and the other doctors that I listed above. You can feel better! Thank you for all the knowledge and resources that you share on your channel. It is greatly appreciated.

    What about lean mass responders with 6 a1c and low carb diet, carnivore mostly and 2.0 insulin levels, 64 triglycerides? My carnivore dr wants me to up my carbs to 150 grams a day to spike insulin. I have an ileostomy and carbs are hard to digest. I like carnivore but it seems i am too fat adapted. Darn if you do, darn if you dont. Any ideas?

    Telling menopausal women to starve themselves through fasting is not doing many women service. Getting hormones regulated, regular exercise that they LIKE and not just to change body shape, managing stress in which restrictive dieting increases mental and emotional stress, and eating in a way to keep blood sugars in control that will help with sustainable energy and mentation throughout the day that is SUSTAINABLE and does not induce more disordered eating that women are subjected to, is what is healthy for both body and mind. Restrictive dieting tactics including demonizing certain foods like gluten for pete’s sake is not healthy. Let’s stop pushing women to extremes to force body shape change and move toward overall sustainable well rounded wellness. Carbs are not evil like rice, bread etc. it depends upon what else one is eating WITH that food and how much protein, healthy fats, and fiber in the overall meal or snack is what is important to understand. And eating “too much protein” will not not turn into fat. Period. I like Dr Haver in many areas but her nutrition knowledge is not well rounded and lacks insight into how restrictive dieting concepts can hurt women. Nutrition should be individualized per person. She admits to disordered eating thoughts and habits and being obsessive about her food and body shape and how unhealthy it became that her husband became worried about her. She needs to be honest about this.

    Knowledge is power. None of the women around me seem to be awake anymore. They are alarmed when I say I am going to pursue hormone replacement. I am sick and tired of post menopause symptoms. Keep getting the word out there.

    not going go see a nurse for any reason .. nurses assist doctors they are not doctors..… ive cancelled clinic appointment because they scheduled me with an NP.. i deserve a doctor .. somebody who actually went to medical school … Nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses .. but they are not doctors..why people settle for them i’ll never know

    I’m 62, been on BHRT creams, Bi-est 2.5 MG, DHEA 20 MG, TEST 1 MG. PG 60 MG PER ML C. Why do I wake up still at 2:00 am in sweaty 🥵. Can I apply my cream 2 times a day. To keep estrogen up? Can I rub extra progesterone cream plus taking 200 mg of progesterone orally? Past DVT’s and past A-fib?? Please help🙏

    My mom never told me. I had no idea what was happening to me, and I thought I was losing my mind. I had to research my symptoms online to learn that I was in perimenopause. My husband insisted I wasn't because he thought women didn't have it until they were 60 or 70! I listed my symptoms to my GP and she confirmed I was in perimenopause.
